This Saturday sees the Frome RFC 1st XV travel to Salisbury RFC, a side they haven't faced in a few years. Another tough test in store, but one the side will certainly be up for.

Frome RFC Head Coach, Jonathan Dicker commented on the days results “With 3 games at home for Frome, it was always going to be a big Saturday for the Club. The first team hosted Sherborne RFC, perennial contenders for the league, and it was sure to be a tough battle. In a game of two half’s, Sherborne clawed their way back into a game many thought was over at half time, pipping Frome by a single point in the final minutes.

Yeovil RFC 1st XV were the opponents for the 2nd XV, and again were pipped by the smallest of margins, again in the last minute of the game. Yeovil have just been relegated from the league above so to push them so close is credit to the hard work of the playing group.

Last and by no means least, we have the 3rd XV team, managed by ex player Simon ‘Shadow’ Bates, took on St Bernadette’s OB’s RFC 2nd XV, who are a capable side and travelled with huge numbers, a credit to Frome who kept in the game throughout despite being low on numbers.

I am extremely proud of the growth in this group over the pre season and opening rounds. We look ahead to next weekend with big games!”
