Frome RFC

Welcome to Frome Rugby Football Club

Proudly rooted in our community since 1883, Frome RFC has a long and proud heritage. But while we honour our history, our eyes are firmly on the future.

Today, our club is a vibrant, inclusive hub for rugby, family, and community life in Somerset.

Looking Forward

We are continually growing—expanding our squads, developing our facilities down at Gypsy Lane, and strengthening our player pathways from youth grassroots right through to senior men's and inclusive formats. Our focus is squarely on fostering talent, encouraging lifelong participation, and building an energetic, welcoming environment both on and off the pitch.

Girls' Rugby & The Walcats Pathway

We proudly welcome girls to play mixed rugby alongside the boys from Under 6 right through to Under 11. While it is always sad to see our players reach the end of the mixed age group and move on, we make sure their rugby journey doesn't stop there.

From the Under 12 season onwards, girls who wish to continue training and playing transition across to the Walcats—a fantastic joint cluster representing players across Bradford on Avon, Frome, Bath, and the surrounding areas.

As more girls and ladies discover and join the sport, we would love nothing more than to be able to field a dedicated all-girls team right here at Frome RFC in the future!

Community at Our Core

More than just a rugby club, Frome RFC is a place where friendships are forged and local families come together. Through active community engagement and strong local partnerships, we are building a sustainable club that represents the very best of Frome.
