Safeguarding at Frome RFC
Frome Rugby Football Club is fully committed to ensuring that all children, young people, and vulnerable adults participating in rugby are able to do so in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
We strictly adhere to the RFU Safeguarding Policy and Procedures, and every coach, volunteer, and official working with our age-grade sections undergoes appropriate vetting (DBS checks) and safeguarding training.

If an urgent safeguarding issue arises and our Club Safeguarding Officer is unavailable, please contact the RFU Safeguarding Team directly or inform the Club Chairman.
What to Do If You Have a Concern
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. If a child or player shares a concern with you, or if you observe something concerning, follow the "Listen, Reassure, Report" framework:
- Listen: Give your full attention. Let them speak without interruption, and do not ask leading questions or prompt for details.
- Reassure: Stay calm and reassure the individual that they were right to speak up and that they are safe.
- Be Honest: Explain gently that you cannot keep it a secret, and that you will need to share it with someone who can help protect them.
- Report: Pass the information on to the Club Safeguarding Officer as soon as possible. Never attempt to investigate an issue yourself.
