Frome RFC 2nd XV v Wheatsheaf Cabin Crew RFC 1st XV
With weather conditions calling off matches all across the region, Frome were very lucky to be able to have a pitch available to play on. With a special mention to Paul Durston for having all the pitches marked up and ready to go.
Frome kicked off and Wheatsheafs centre managed to go wide and find a gap in the defence and showed great pace to get to Frome’s 22 where full back John Spencer managed to hold on and with Flanker Owen Jones close by they managed to stop the try being scored.
Frome then started making good inroads and on 8 mins scrum half Noah Stickley made a great break with was backed up well by the forwards allowing Flanker Gordon Grierson to crash over for the first try of the game. Max Stickley made the extras. 7-0
Then on 12 mins following a penalty kick to the corner Frome caught and drove Noah Stickley fed Henry Bull who delayed the pass for Owen Jones to hit a great line to go under the posts. Max added the extras 14-0
Frome were now full of running with flankers Jones and Grierson enjoying taking the ball on in midfield. Equally backed up by props Kyle Stickley and Dan Chaventre.
Then on 26 mins, good line speed in defence caused a mistake by Wheatsheaf, which was pounced on by Henry Bull, who fed Centre and Captain Ethan White. Still with a lot to do White bumped off three would be tacklers to score his first try of the season. Max Stickley added the extras.

The second half started with Second Row Stuart Elliott being awarded a team yellow carded for repeat offending.
On 50 mins, a good run by Bull again setting up a good position in midfield, with Noah Stickley getting the ball out the ruck quickly the ball went wide to winger Tom Weston who finished well, stepping one defender and out pacing the defence to score in the corner. 26 - 0
Ten minutes later Frome were in another good attacking position with a line out on the 5m line. A good catch and drive from the Frome pack allowed Prop Chaventre to touch down. 31-0
Wheatsheaf were not short of their own strike runners and their No. 8, was a thorn in the Frome defence all game, and managed to get a try for his efforts. 31 - 7
But any thought of a comeback was put to bed when straight from the kick off, Max Stickley put up a great restart and a good kick chase from the Frome backs, forced Wheatsheaf to make a mistake, which Bull jumped on and ran in under the posts. Max Stickley added the extras. 38-7
As the game closed Frome piled on the pressure again and the ball went out to Ethan White who burst through the gap to score his second of the game. Max Stickley added the extras.

Team Manager, Andy Vince commented “A really pleasing result with everyone putting a performance, Player of the Match went to Ethan White for not only getting two tries, but his defence was superb and he captained the side well.”
