Bristol Telephone Area RFC

Frome RFC III v Bristol Telephone Area RFC

A bright and sunny Gypsy Lane saw a fantastic game of rugby played out in fanatic spirits as the Frome RFC 3rd XV welcomed high flying Bristol Telephone Area RFC.

The Frome RFC 3rd XV started well, the Forwards carrying hard and working well in the set piece. After some good field position, Frome looked to attack, but a wayward pass saw the visitors Centre snatch the ball and sprint the length of the pitch to score under the posts, despite the best efforts of the tracking defence.

The homeside kept cool heads and were able to work their way back into the oppositions half, but as Frome looked certain to score, pressure from the opposition line saw another interception and the visitors crossed over again.

Frome’s experienced backline would soon look to threaten again after a great platform from the Forwards Scrum, saw them spin the ball wide following a break through the middle, being finished off in the corner by Winger Alex Caffreys-Gage, Captain Toby Reilly adding the extras.

With the sun now behind them, Frome’s mix of experience and youth took charge after the halftime break, which saw strong carry’s  from Ollie Phipps and Will Dennett to name a few, Frome would notch up a further five tries in this half, coming from Centre Dom Jones, a hat trick from Garrie Webster and finally Ali Monger diving over for the final points of the day.
