Keynsham RFC III 14 - 33 Frome RFC III

The Frome RFC 3rd XV were in league action at the weekend when they made the trip to Crown Fields to take on Keynsham RFC.

With 3 losses and 2 wins so far in the season Captain, Toby Reilly knew a tough test was ahead of them with Keynsham sitting above Frome in the table.

The visitors kicked off and started well with strong carries from the Forwards, and with Frome camped in the home teams half it wasn’t long until a break through the middle by Rowan Walton, saw Frome go over to score a try, the conversion being added by Toby Reilly. (0-7)

Keynsham found themselves under some early pressure and opted to kick down field often, only to find the back three of John Spencer, Alex Caffreys-Gage and Rob Tunstall who all returned the ball with gusto, making great breaks in field.

The visitors would cross the line not long after when a break down the wing saw Centre Ian Gibson link up with Hooker Jack Carter who crashed over to score. Reilly unable to add the extras from wide. (0-12)

No. 8 Stuart Elliott would carry hard throughout the game, and broke through the defence to set up a great try for Full Back, Spencer to cross over for a converted try. (0-19)

Some stern defence from Flanker Chris Lewis and Scrum Half, Noah Stickley would keep the home side to nil as the sides headed into the break.
