On a busy Sunday, following a Remembrance service, Frome Academy welcomed Melksham Colts to The Lane. An early tap and go from fly-half Fin Van Gorph, led to a sweeping attack, which put Jonas Mills attacking into space.
After three minutes, the home side had quick ball from the pack, Cam Vince put Van Gorph clear, he passed out wide to Toby Cassidy who served past three defenders to score under the posts, for a 7-0 lead.
Melksham hit back a few minutes later with a well taken try out wide.
With twenty minutes on the clock, repeated carries from Ollie Andrews from the back of line out, put Frome on the front foot. A slick backs move gave Cassidy and Bryn Lewis space in the midfield. Angus Bush, playing at full back wrapped around and scored at pace, in the corner. The score was now 12-5 in favour of the home side.
Melksham again moved the ball wide to score out wide to narrow the gap to 12-10.
In the final moments of the half, after dominant field position, Neo Davies hit a hard line and was narrowly tackled just short of the line, before Kayden Henley crashed over from close range for a 17-10 half time score.

With the second half underway, and with Frome now filling out half of the Melksham side, the game started with fearsome tackles.
Space was opening by up the midfield, Fin Malloy attacked brilliantly down the wing, the ball was narrowly lost forward. Following the next phase Van Gorph found space and scored well out wide, then converted his own try.
With good carries from both Isaac Cornish and Freddie Corp, Harrie Webster found some space was just narrow of try line. Vince picked up the ball and beat the defender on the line to score, for a 29-10 score line.
In the next minute, Melksham hit back again with Frome player Jonas Mills scoring out wide for Melksham. This was followed up later with another great individual try for Melksham.
With fifteen minutes gone, a great try out wide for Frome. Webster took a high ball and ate up the yards. He then passed wide to Cassidy, who put Malloy down the wing. The winger romped him to score for Frome.
Following repeated penalties against Melksham, Frome worked a few phases. The ball was recycled before Cornish finished from short range, for the final try of the game.
