Frome RFC Post Match Review | 1st XV
Frome RFC 1st XV suffered a 12-39 home defeat to North Dorset RFC at the weekend.
Facing another side expected to challenge at the top end of the league, Frome’s young squad worked hard, but fundamental errors and discipline proved costly, allowing North Dorset to secure the five points.
Tries: Gordon Grierson, Toby Cassidy
Conversion: Max Stickley
Head Coach Garrie Webster reflected on the performance:
“Another tough game against another team who will likely challenge for the league this year. Our young squad dug in and worked hard, but ultimately some fundamental errors and discipline cost us field position and points.
“North Dorset were as strong as we expected them to be and deserved the five points. I was happy with the effort level, although the execution wasn’t of the standard it needs to be to compete against the top teams.”
Frome will look to take the lessons from the weekend into their next fixture as they continue to develop and build as a squad.
This Saturday the 1st XV head across the border to face top of the table Salisbury RFC, and with Frome currently in 9th place they’ll know another tough battle is ahead of them.
