Frome RFC Match Report | 2nd XV
Counties 2 Tribute Southern South
Frome II 43 – 19 North Dorset II
Frome RFC 2nd XV kicked off their 2026/27 season in style on Saturday with an impressive 43-19 home victory over North Dorset RFC 2nd XV.
In their first competitive fixture of the campaign, Frome produced a dominant performance, combining strong forward play with some excellent attacking rugby to secure a deserved win. The hosts moved the ball confidently throughout and showed plenty of attacking intent, crossing for a number of well-worked scores.
Team Manager, Andy Vince was pleased with the performance, commenting:
“An excellent start to the season. It was great to blow away the cobwebs with a dominant display and get back out on the pitch. We played some fantastic rugby throughout, moved the ball well, and showed real intent in attack. It was a really strong all-round team performance, and a great platform to build on as the season progresses.”
The Player of the Match award went to flanker Owen Jones, whose tireless work rate, physicality at the breakdown, and contribution around the park played a key role in Frome’s opening-day success.
A strong start for the 2nd XV and plenty of positives to take into the weeks ahead as the side looks to build momentum early in the season.
