On Saturday the Frome RFC 2nd XV made the short trip into Wiltshire to face Trowbridge RFC 2nds.
Frome started the game well and having put together some well worked phases were moving up the field nicely, but just on the 5 minute mark, lost Winger Luke Stanley to a bad ankle injury, which saw substitute John Spencer return to action after a long injury lay off.
The two sides were both struggling to impose themselves, but on 15mins the Trowbridge backs showed what they could do and broke clear scoring the first try of the game. The Conversation being added.
This spurred on Frome and some superb running by Second Row pair Micheal Cuppa-Miller and Owen Davies resulted in Fly Half Ben Eley putting a great positional kick.
From the resulting line out, No.8 Cameron Hastie put pressure on the Home Fly half which lead to a turn over and with their tails up the pack pushed forward and Captain Grierson emerged with the ball and the try was awarded. Eley with the extras.
This game then went back and forth, with both sides struggling to protect the ball in the break down, but at 30 mins the Trowbridge backs hit again and scored following some missed tackles in the backline.
Straight from kick off again Frome showed what they could do, with some great body positions, pushed the opposition back towards their own line. Flanker Connor McPherson came from the back of the drive and scored.
On the stroke of half time Frome were awarded a Penalty just outside the 22 metre line, which Eley easily slotted.

The second half started much like the first, with the game going back and forth. A Trowbridge clearance kick found its way to Flanker James Milton, who ran down the wing only to be stopped just short. But he reappeared shortly after some phase play to crash over for the try.
Trowbridge were not done however and started to push forward and again they went to their backs to attack and managed to squeeze over in the corner.
Frome were able to work back into the Trowbridge 22 and following a series of close calls and being held up, Frome were awarded a scrum 5 meters out.
The forwards worked tirelessly throughout and were soon awarded another penalty, this time the Referee deemed it a try scoring opportunity and awarded the penalty try.
Trowbridge had one last charge at Frome and with only two minutes to go they were awarded a penalty outside the 22, which was duly kicked.
Frome then played out the last minute before kicking out and sealing another bonus point win 22 - 27.
