Frome RFC

57 - 14

(HT 26-7)

Marlborough RFC

Frome started very brightly as they did in their last home game, with Inside Centre Ben Tiley breaking the Marlborough defence as early as the 2nd minute.

This would be repeated again shortly after with great support play leading to Tiley scoring his first try of the season, FlyHalf Ben Eley adding the extras.

The Frome forwards showing some great technique in the scrums piled on the pressure which saw Tom Duckworth, playing at No.8 for the first time, picked up with 5 meters to go and crashed over for the try, Eley kicked the extras.

The home-side then executed a play straight from the training ground, taking the ball from one side of the pitch to the other making it over the gain line with each attack, leading to Hooker Phil Clarke going over near the posts.

The pressure continued and caused Marlborough to make mistakes which lead to Second Row Michael Duppa-Miller getting on the end of another move to score, duly converted by Eley.

Marlborough had their best period in the game, and continued to threaten with their backline but came up against some great defence, however Frome were caught short wide and Marlborough scored a try of their own.

The second half started well for Frome with Eley finding a lovely positional kick from a Penalty, which lead to a well executed line which would please the Coaching staff, which lead to Clarke crashing over from close range. Eley converted.

The pressure didnt stop for the visitors and with the forward scontinuing to dominate, Zack Tondoro got the try.

With the forwards doing there bit, it was time for the backs to have a go, with Tiley breaking the line again and Centre partner Lewis Parfoot making ground whenever they got the chance.

Clarke then managed to get the ball in loose play and ran down the 10 channel crashing over for his hat trick. Eley converted.

On the 60th minute Frome had another Line out near the oppositions try line and again they went to their training ground moves which resulted in Clarke crashing over again. Eley converted.

Unfortunately from the next kick off the Frome side switched off defensively allowing the Marlborough backs to capitalise on some tired tackling scoring their second try.

It was Winger Kyle Williamson who looked to nearly score after being put into space, sprinted clear only to be caught by a last ditch tackle on the line, but some how he managed to off load and with an amazing catch Zac Tondoro managed to dot down over the line.

Final Score:
