Frome RFC III v Huish Tigers RFC

The Frome RFC 3rd XV welcomed league leaders Huish Tigers RFC to The Lane on saturday for what was going to be frome's toughest challenge yet in Somerset 3 South.

The game started off with the visitors playing some good rugby and testing out the frome defence early in the game, the first telling moment was at the first scrum where hooker andrew greenwood stole the ball against the head and frome cleared there lines well, this showed the visitors they were not in for a easy game at all.

The first 25 minutes of the game Frome’s defence held firm until the home side knocked the ball on and the visitors quickly moved the ball wide to open the scoring conversion was hit making the score 0-7.

Frome then went on the attack and were camped in the visitors 22 for the next 5 minutes, after giving away a rare penalty Huish took it quick and after several phases of scored another converted try 0-14, with half time approaching frome defended hard with big hits coming in from everyone in the team, the visitors scored two more converted tries making the half time scored 0-28.

Frome continued to pile on the pressure with most of the second half being played in the visitors half of the pitch, with some big ball carries frome will witt, jon witcombe, dean marshall were making in roads to the visitors defence, sadly it was the visitors that scored an unconverted try 0-33, the rest of the game was played at a fast pace and frome defended hard for the whole game sadly the visitors pace out wide proved too much and they ran out 0-52 winners, the visitors had nothing but praise for the frome team saying " that is by far the hardest game we have had all season" the frome team can hold their heads up high with the performance both in defence and attack.

Mom was will witt for an already outstanding performance.
