Frome RFC Announce 2025/26 Coaching Team & Backroom Staff Appointments
Frome Rugby Football Club are delighted to unveil our new Coaching Team and Backroom Staff appointments ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Leading the charge will be Garrie Webster, who steps into the role of Head Coach. A true club stalwart, Garrie has served Frome RFC in numerous capacities over the years—Club Captain, Mini & Junior Chairman, and Academy Coach, to name a few. After joining the coaching team midway through last season and most recently serving as Director of Rugby, Garrie now takes full charge of the Coaching Team.
Garrie shared his thoughts on the new role:
“I’m very excited to continue where we left off last year. We’ve got a young player group that is getting better all the time, mixed with some experienced players still producing the goods. The players put a lot of hard work into last year and I’m looking forward to getting back at it!”
1st XV
After a mixed 2024/25 season, the 1st XV will continue to compete at Level 7, continuing in Counties 1 South. We’re thrilled that Geoff Taylor will remain as Club Captain. Geoff is a commanding presence both on and off the field, and we’re eager to see his leadership drive the squad forward this season.
2nd XV
Following last season, Phil Clarke steps down as 2nd XV Captain. We thank Phil for his commitment. Stepping into the role is long-time Frome RFC player Ethan White, who has come through the ranks from junior level. The 2nd XV will compete in Counties 3 Dorset & Wilts Central, and we look forward to seeing Ethan lead the side.
3rd XV
Toby Reilly continues as 3rd XV Captain, with the team set to compete once again in a rejuvenated Counties 4 Somerset North. Toby’s dedication has been instrumental in maintaining the team’s spirit and performance.
Veterans XV
James Weston continues his role as the Cavalry (Veterans) XV Captain, with the side hoping to play plenty more friendly fixtures during the season.
Team Managers
We’re proud to confirm the continued support of our incredible team managers:
- Trevor Osborne – 1st XV Team Manager
- Andy Vince – 2nd XV Team Manager
- Simon Bates – 3rd XV Team Manager
- Andy Shaw – Vets XV Team Manager
Their unwavering commitment and behind-the-scenes work are vital to the club’s continued success.
New Medical Lead
We warmly welcome James Bennett as the Club’s new Medical Lead. This role is essential to player welfare, and we are grateful to James for bringing his expertise to Frome RFC following many years supporting the Backroom staff.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Rosie Knight, who steps down from her role as Sports Therapist to focus on her own practice, Shield Sports Therapy. Rosie has been an integral part of the club’s medical support, and we wish her every success.
Preseason Training Starts July 1st!
Senior Squad Preseason Training returns on Tuesday, July 1st, running every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00pm.
We can’t wait to welcome new and returning players back to The Lane for what promises to be an exciting season ahead.
