Today we are #GettingToKnow Frome RFC’s Richard James.

| When was your first senior debut? It was against Avonvale 5 or 6 years ago, I was coming back from knee surgery and was told I could have a few minutes run out at the end, but ended up playing the whole game.

| What has been your best Frome RFC moment? My best playing moment was scoring my first try for the club. Watching Will Button and his team win at the Rec was also special.

| What Netflix show do you binge? Lucifer.

| What food is your guilty pleasure? Bacon and egg sandwich.

| What is your prematch song? If I have Stuart Elliott with me it's usually Lionel Ritchie, but if I had my choice it's crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne.

| What advice would you give someone getting into rugby union? Train as much as you can, Tape is essential, drink with your left hand and dont let Phillip Clarke run at you....💥

| Which player, past or present would you most like to play with? I love hearing Andrew Greenwoods stories about Simon Bates - so I'd love to have witnessed him playing.

I'd also like to go back to my first game and reunite Sam and Scott woodward, Matt Jones, Will Witt etc with the likes of Jamie King, David Randall, Kristian Carpenter and Shaun whatford back playing.

| What hobby would you like to take up? I would like to take up canoeing/kayaking.

| Who is the funniest Frome RFC teammate? Funniest....Matt Jones and Will Witt are a comedy duo with a great sense of humour - always washing their hair when they should be training.

| What sport would you play if you weren’t a rugby player? I'm not sure I would play another sport..... maybe something relaxed like pool or darts if they count.

| Favourite film? The Goonies is easily my most watched film. Fight club is probably my favourite.

| How are you staying fit during isolation? Like most people I had a well deserved rest whilst on lockdown. I'm back at work so I'm just waiting for preseason to start.

| Who’s your sporting hero? Phil 'The Power' Taylor - to dominate the world for as long as he did is a remarkable achievement. However, in terms of physical sports, Joe Calzaghe - 46 fights undefeated, dominated middleweight boxing for 10 years.

| Do you have any prematch rituals or superstitions? I always like to have a quiet moment on the pitch just before kick off.

| What advice do you have for people during lockdown? Block Stuart Elliott from calling you at all hours of the day! 😁 Dont allow boredom to set in - keep your mind active.
