Today we ask our #GettingToKnow questions to Frome RFC’s Player and Backs Coach Dom Jones.
| When was your first XV debut? Versus Corsham RFC at home in 2007.
| What has been your best Frome RFC moment? The lead up to the promotion playoff game and running out on to the pitch holding Jonah (my son), who was wearing my first ever Frome RFC shirt.
| What Netflix show do you binge? Suits, but finished that so catching up on prison break...only a few years late.
| What food is your guilty pleasure? Ice cream usually, bit of late probably a chocolate hobnob and cup of tea.
| What is your prematch song? No pre-match song, but I do enjoy a bit of deep house or Eden classical...keeps me on the level!
| What advice would you give someone getting into rugby union? Missing tackles hurts more than making tackles!
| Which player, past or present would you most like to play with? Big Toby ‘the human tank’ Culff at 12 and I’ll just run off his shoulder all day.
| What hobby would you like to take up? Always say “I’d love to learn the guitar or ukulele”.
| Who is the funniest Frome RFC teammate? James Howard. Laughing at him most of the time though.
| What sport would you play if you weren’t a rugby player? Kabaddi kabaddi kabaddi.
| Favourite film? Remember the Titans/goonies
| How are you staying fit during isolation? I’m managing to fit in some Physical activity each day. It’s the clean eating which is the problem?!
| Who’s your sporting hero? Jonah Lomu. The impact he had on our game and the challenges he was overcoming just to play which people...including team mates, were completely unaware of.
| Do you have any prematch rituals or superstitions? I just wear my very special wolverine pants...
| What advice do you have for people during lockdown? Boring people get bored. Find hobbies, learn something new.
