Today we are #GettingToKnow Frome RFC Player Darrell Thompson.
| When was your first XV debut? It was this season, against Swindon College Old Boys RFC.
| What has been your best Frome RFC moment? Not a specific moment, but just how welcoming and nice everyone has been at the club since joining. Perhaps kicking a lot of points against Walcot is in there too.
| What Netflix show do you binge? Just finished Power Heist, Money and Afterlife. Not sure what’s up next.
| What food is your guilty pleasure? Has to be my Wife’s Lasagne.
| What is your prematch song? Don’t really have a go to song...just listen to whatever is playing.
| What advice would you give someone getting into rugby union? Just get involved, it’s different to any other sport and once you start you’ll never stop.
| Which player, past or present would you most like to play with? Probably Head Coach Toby Culff, have heard so many good things about how good he was, be nice to see. Also Dom Jones, haven’t managed to play in the same team as him yet so look forward to that.
| What hobby would you like to take up? Not sure, I like snooker.
| Who is the funniest Frome RFC teammate? Umm, maybe Elliott Bowler, even though his Trowbridge jokes are so boring!
| What sport would you play if you weren’t a rugby player? Football I’d imagine. There’s nothing better than rugby.
| Favourite film? Project X is up there.
| How are you staying fit during isolation? Home exercises and some jogging.
| Who’s your sporting hero? Quads Cooper or Dan Carter.
| Do you have any prematch rituals or superstitions? No.
| What advice do you have for people during lockdown? Just use the time wisely, get things done around the house, keep active and enjoy family time if you are able to.
Tomorrow we get to know Frome RFC’s Gordon Grierson.
