#GettingToKnow Frome RFC’s Gordon Grierson..

| When was your first XV debut? I think it was at Home against Salisbury RFC in 2010. Although my first game for Frome was in a preseason friendly against Tor RFC the year before.

| What has been your best Frome RFC moment? There’s so many...playing at The Rec and winning the league with the 2nd XV have to be top.

| What Netflix show do you binge? Van Helsing and Last Kingdom.

| What food is your guilty pleasure? Kebabs, love them!

| What is your prematch song? Baby Shark 🦈

| What advice would you give someone getting into rugby union? Get involved in everything, not just the game. It’s like having one big family, a great support network.

| Which player, past or present would you most like to play with? Paul Lovatt, I think he has the same mentality as me and would love a good ruck (I miss real rucking!).

| What hobby would you like to take up? I’ve started growing vegetables, be great to see if I can grow anything edible.

| Who is the funniest Frome RFC teammate? Stuart Elliott, you can always count on him to make a fool out of himself.

| What sport would you play if you weren’t a rugby player? Hammer Thrower, little fact that I actually represent England Schools and part of the Scottish Elite squad. I also held the Scotland U15 record for some time.

| Favourite film? Scum, I love both versions of the film.

| How are you staying fit during isolation? I’m still working, so when I have the opportunity I take the boys out on a bike ride.

| Who’s your sporting hero? Lawrence Dallagio, an amazing player who led from the front. I used to love watching him play at Adams Park.

| Do you have any prematch rituals or superstitions? I have to have a cigarette.

|What advice do you have for people during lockdown? Keep active and enjoy the time with your family, and stay connected to your friends.

Tomorrow we catch up with Frome RFC’s Matt Warnock.
