Today we are #GettingToKnow Frome RFC’s Matt Warnock...
| When was your first XV debut? It was November 2004 at Home against Bradford on Avon RFC, managed a couple tries (unheard of now days!).
| What has been your best Frome RFC moment? There have been heaps, but being awarded Clubman of the Year and being part of last seasons Play Off fixture, it was an epic day, and running out onto the pitch with my two kids made it so special.
| What Netflix show do you binge? Last Chance U and more recently The Last Dance.
| What food is your guilty pleasure? Chippy Tea.
| What is your prematch song? Something by the Beastie Boys.
| What advice would you give someone getting into rugby union? Just get involved, the players, backroom staff and club make it feel like a second home.
| Which player, past or present would you most like to play with? Wow, so many! I was lucky enough to play with some of Frome’s ‘old guard’ but to run out with the likes of Rolly, Ivor, Hillsy, Norris, Westy, Culff, Moss, etc, along with Button, Bowles, McDonald, Gallop, Rutt, Whalley & Hooper would be great.
| What hobby would you like to take up? Not sure 🤔
| Who is the funniest Frome RFC teammate? Will Button or Mike Rutt have me in stitches ‘I will if you will’.
| What sport would you play if you weren’t a rugby player? Rugby League 😉
| Favourite film? Good Will Hunting.
| How are you staying fit during isolation? Some home work outs alongside some running...I hate running.
| Who’s your sporting hero? It’s Adrian Morley, English Rugby League Prop/2nd Row. An absolute battering ram of a human, who played NRL & Super League.
| Do you have any prematch rituals or superstitions? I pack my kit bag and iron my after match clothes the night before and have it all set out ready.
| What advice do you have for people during lockdown? Try and remain positive, it’s a pretty rubbish time for most but seek the positives in everything.
Tomorrow we catch up with Frome RFC player Ethan White.
